Jethro snr. was a farmer from
Darley. According to church records he was 51 when he died in early 1802.
He left a will administered on the 22nd April in favour of his widow
Sarah with assets of £100 or less.
George Shaw probably married Mary Shaw
in 1815 at St Helen's.
Elizabeth Shaw probably married
James Shaw in 1816 at St Helen's.
A Jethro Shaw aged 61 was
sentenced to 6 months in prison for larceny on the 16th March 1843
at Derbyshire Assizes. He may or may not have been the son listed
above but the dates fit. If so he would have died in prison. The
standard alternatives to prison in those days were whipping or
transportation (to Australia).
