Jethro (2), born 17th April 1803 in Darley Dale, died before 1851 (see below)

George Shaw's will was dated 2/11/1827 and probate was granted on 23/4/1829. He was a miner, probably of lead. He died in Winster and was buried at St Helen's on 6/12/1827.

Alice Marsden was a daughter of William Marsden (b. 1717) and Margaret Southern (b. 1722). Alice was baptised on 29/4/1759 at St Helen's, died 3/6/1831 in Winster and was buried on 8/6/1831 at St Helen's.

Millicent Potter was a daughter of Thomas Potter and Mary Blackwell, baptised on 17/10/1790 and married 16/9/1811, both at St Helen's.

Jethro Shaw (b. 1803) died before the census on 30/3/1851 (and perhaps even before the census of 1841). He married Elizabeth Bradley (b. 1803 in Winster) in Winster on 4/4/1825 and they had several children including George (b. 1830), Mary Ann (b. 1833), John (b. 1837) and Alice (b. 1840). All were born in Wensley or nearby Cross Green. Jethro was living in Cross Green when he got married in 1825.

There were two children called Jethro. It was not uncommon to reuse a name after a child died young.
