The Second and Third Generation of Herlingshaws

The children and grandchildren of William and Sarah Ann Herlingshaw ....

James Norman (known as Norman) Herlingshaw, born 1918 married Minnie Read, born 1919, in 1940. He died in 1986. They had these children:

  Norma Ann, born in 1940

James Norman Herlingshaw remarried to Ann Ralph (born 1930, died 2024) in 1952 and they had these children:

  David Norman, born 1952

  Shirley Ann, born 1954

  Margaret, born 1955

  Wendy, born 1967

William Herlingshaw (the second, born 1920, died 1988) married Doris Cooper Hampton, born 1921, died 1981 in 1942 and they had two children:

  William, born 1945, died 2006 (photo below). He was known as "Young Billy" to avoid confusion with his father.

  Alan, born 1949

William Herlingshaw (born 1920) married again in 1986, to a childhood friend Sarah Vasey but he died in 1988, she in 2012.

Louis Raymond Herlingshaw (born 1922, died 2016) married Phyllis Mary Day (born 1924, died 1989) and they had these children:

  Colin, born 1947, died 2014

  Sandra, born 1955

  Richard Francis, born 1964, died 2003 (photo below taken in December 1976 at Alexandra Palace in London - he was then not yet 13 years old)

Ivy Herlingshaw (born 1927, died 2020) married Thomas Johnson in 1947 and they had these children:

  Audrey, born 1948 (married Harry Day and moved to Western Australia)

Clifford Herlingshaw (born 1932, died 2019) married Alice Beckley, (born 1934, died 2017) in 1952 and they had these children:

Most of the extended Herlingshaw family live in the Teesside area but there are exceptions, some data is from the electoral rolls so may be out of date:

Audrey Day (née Johnson) (Ivy Johnson (née Herlingshaw) and Tommy Johnson's oldest daughter) lives in Western Australia with her husband Harry Day.

Christopher Herlingshaw lives in West Berkshire.

Philip and Vicki (née Brown) Herlingshaw live in Cornwall. He works for First Bus.

Andrew and Vicky Herlingshaw lived in North Somerset. He is no longer employed by Bath Bus Company and was last heard of (briefly) in NZ.

Sandra Herlingshaw lives in West Sussex.

Claire Louise Herlingshaw lives in East Sussex.

Louis Brett Herlingshaw lives in Surrey.

Jennifer Herlingshaw lives in Aberdeenshire.

Steven Herlingshaw lives in Aberdeenshire.

Liam Herlingshaw lives in Birmingham.
